ELEVATING THE YOUTH OF DENVER

THE SNEAKER GALA IS A CHARITABLE EVENT AIMED AT RAISING AWARENESS AND FUNDS TO SUPPORT YOUTH PROGRAMS THAT HELP COMBAT YOUTH VIOLENCE IN DENVER.

According to recent statistics, Denver has seen a significant rise in youth violence, with a 40% increase in homicides among youth aged 17 and under in 2021 alone. This alarming trend has highlighted the urgent need for effective youth programs that address the root causes of violence and provide young people with the necessary skills and resources to lead healthy, productive lives.

Unfortunately, funding for these programs is often insufficient, with many organizations struggling to secure the resources they need to make a real impact. In 2020, only 1 in 3 youth programs in Denver reported having sufficient funding to meet the needs of their communities. This lack of funding can limit the effectiveness of these programs and leave many young people at risk.

The Sneaker Gala seeks to address this critical funding gap by bringing together individuals, businesses, and organizations committed to supporting youth programs that combat youth violence in Denver. Through the gala's fundraising efforts, we aim to provide vital resources to these organizations, enabling them to continue their important work and make a positive impact on the lives of young people in our community.

As the founders of Elevate DNVR, we have a personal connection to the struggles that many at-risk youth in Denver face. Having grown up in challenging circumstances ourselves, we understand firsthand the importance of having access to supportive resources and mentorship opportunities that can help break the cycle of poverty and violence.

This is why we are committed to supporting organizations like the Denver Dream Center, which provide vital programs and services to young people in need. By hosting this fundraising gala, we hope to raise awareness and support for the Dream Center's efforts, enabling them to continue providing hope and opportunity to the youth of Denver.
